Beschrijving
During the ‘50s, the amber switch tips as used on guitars were made from CAB (Cellulose Acetate Butyrate). By the early ‘60s the material used changed to nylon as it’s much more stable and less prone to discolouration and shape distortion. Because of this, white tips became much more common. Still, for a vintage or relic late ‘50s guitar a true CAB tip looks just right.
The CAB (Cellulose Acetate Butyrate) gives the knobs an overall nice vintage look and feel. They aren’t sanded, rubbed or aged but were taken directly from the form. Over time the colour and shape will change into the common look for late ‘50s instruments.
